La Cariée
A small cliff of chalk and flint offering a breathtaking view of the Seine and the two neighboring lakes. With its easy access and simplicity, La Cariée is the perfect area for beginners! Owned by the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels de Normandie, the area was re-equipped in 2024 by the SNE Commission of the CT FFME in the Eure department. A handrail has been installed to secure access to the north face, and there are anchor points at the top of the cliff for top-roping. Climbing above the cave is strictly prohibited. Our ethical guidebook is brought to you by the FFME Territorial Committee of the Eure in collaboration with Pascal Bocianowski, lead route setter for the cliffs along the Seine.
